Muhterem means "esteemed", "honored". While relaxed with people, he is a dog who demands respect from other canines. Muhterem is kenneled with Liza, who would not share her living space with any other dog. It is a strong statement that even Liza respects Muhterem and the affection between them is endearing. He has a profound sense of responsibilty and takes it very hard if he makes a foolish mistake. One day, he accidentally knocked over his water bucket and even though a volunteer filled it immediately, he was visibly embarrassed for the rest of the day. When you approach his kennel, he gets very excited, often standing up on his hind legs. He and Liza will compete to have their heads rubbed and he presses himself up against the fencing in hope of getting a good back scratch. When you take him for a walk, he is calm and easy, good on a leash and appreciates a brushing. He looks like a coyote, but there is nothing wily about him. To know him is to esteem him, so come get to know Muhterem.
